Until recently the local restaurant "Konditor & Cook" which is a tenant in the famous "Gherkin" building (see above) in the City of London just like the local office of Hypo Real Estate bank, showed compassion for the bank's employees. Upon presentation of their company ID card they received a free chocolate chip cookie.
Nowadays the menues that Konditor & Cook send out by e-mail every day no longer contain this offer.
Maybe a consequence of the bail-outs...
